The Reform UK leader Claims Educators of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Racial Topics

Nigel Farage has asserted that educators would initiate walkouts shortly after a Reform UK election victory, accusing them of “harming young minds” by instructing children that black pupils are victims and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

During an event for a Michigan-based religious institution, Farage outlined his viewpoint on the UK education system, stating that the “radical left-wing” had “taken over schooling”.

“I’m anticipating a walkout by educators soon after securing a victory,” Farage commented during a Q&A session.

“They are corrupting young minds. They instruct children to be ashamed of their country. They inform an eight-year-old black child that he is a victim and a white child of the same age that he is an oppressor. They create division, instead of fostering unity. They are feeding this harmful mindset.”

Reacting to Farage’s claims, the head of a major education union rejected the idea that the schools were under Marxist influence as “nonsense”. Kebede noted that any strikes must relate to educators’ working conditions, and questioned whether the party would target these right after taking office.

“Farage has built his political career on dog-whistle politics and currently, similar to other figures, he is lining up teachers and their organizations for a fight,” Kebede stated.

“This is highly reckless. I don’t – and nor does my union – push critical race theory as he claims … Should he become prime minister he would sell out our public services, including education … and the outcome would be catastrophic for students and learning.”

Reform, which is leading the polls by about 10 points, has not set out much detail on a proposed education policy and does not appear to have appointed an education spokesperson.

Nonetheless, his comments suggested the party would overhaul the educational framework. He said: “We have got a massive job with education – truly monumental. Moreover, it won’t happen quickly; it will take us years, years to turn this around.”

Farage expressed that gen Z was more open to analytical thought, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Honoring Charlie Kirk, Farage said: “All I want education to do to teach critical thinking – to educate individuals that multiple perspectives exist and they should decide for themselves rather than current practices where views are labeled good or bad. This is a huge undertaking in the UK and US.”

The party has conflicted with a major educators’ organization, after the union leader labeled them “far right and racist” and dismissed Farage as “a cheap imitation”.

The politician has charged Kebede of being “a self-declared Marxist” … an individual intent that young minds be corrupted at school, their minds should be poisoned about everything to do with this country” and maintained that the organization seeks to brainwash youth opposed to his party.

Almost one million people are employed in education in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The major education union has hundreds of thousands of members.

National strikes over educators’ salaries and work environment in recent years led to significant interruptions in educational institutions and extensive missed instruction for children.

At the US event, Farage also pledged to help spread the digital courses of the institution in the UK. He stated organizations like it were “part of the fightback”, noting: “I am serious. I’ll assist garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of young people to these educational programs. I pledge this tonight and I’ll do that.”

The college, a small private Christian college, offers free courses. Its website states: “Comprehensive learning is vital for well-being and to maintain the benefits of civil and religious liberty. The college furnishes these beautiful courses for no charge to all who wish to learn.”
