Salah Extends Statement to Squad, Reveals Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has disclosed that Salah apologised to the team in the wake of the uproar from his recent interview.
What Happened
Salah was left out from a European match following making accusations and suggesting his rapport with Arne Slot had deteriorated.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I apologise.’”
Arne Slot has refused to comment publicly on whether he got an explanation from the veteran striker.
Team Unity
Jones insisted that the team's response stayed normal. “He was his usual self, he had a big smile on his face and it was business as usual,” Jones added.
The midfielder also implied that a competitor wanting to play is less of an issue. “I get that there are specific approaches you can express yourself,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just be on the bench, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
Positive Results
The team's performance have remained strong in the matches since the situation. Jones believes the forward's comments were not intended to cause disruption.
“In moments of frustration, the source has been from a place of caring,” he finished. “It's behind us and we’re building chemistry, performing and on a positive run.”
