Manchester United Set to Sign German Forward Lea Schüller from Bayern Munich
Manchester United are on the verge of completing the signing for prolific German striker Lea Schüller in a permanent move away from the Frauen-Bundesliga champions.
A Marquee Acquisition for the WSL Side
The forward, with half a year left on her deal, has been a prolific goalscorer for her club and the national team. She has scored more than 100 goals for Bayern and scored 54 times in 82 caps for Germany. This signing is viewed as a marquee coup for the Women’s Super League team.
Departure from Munich has been anticipated since she appeared to be holding back emotions while thanking the club's fans after a victory over Bayer Leverkusen recently.
It was reported in December that the German women's top flight was set to lose one of its leading strikers. Per multiple sources, the formalities for the transfer have now been completed.
Reliable Goalscoring to Strengthen the Attack
The experienced striker's arrival should represent a major boost to the team's attacking options. She has been remarkably consistent in front of goal in the Bundesliga.
- Over seven consecutive seasons, including the last term, she reached at least a double-figures tally of league goals.
- She claimed the Golden Boot in 2021-22 season with 16 goals.

The acquisition of Schüller’s signature comes at a time when the club seem to be gathering positive momentum.

The new defender, having joined from a side from the NWSL, said: “You can feel how much the club have progressed in the last few years, playing in one of the strongest leagues in the world and performing in the Champions League.”
