Within the fiercely contested arena of gaming, it's typical for emerging rivals to vanish as quickly as they enter the stage.

But this new installment is striving to shift that dynamic.

It's the latest entry in a long-running combat FPS franchise commonly positioned as a more realistic alternative to its main competitor.

This game has seldom been able to match its best-known opponent in regards of sales or user base, but there are signs the new installment could narrow the difference.

A preview session giving players a shot to test the game not long ago broke records, and the buzz leading up to its launch has been huge.

But the undertaking is nevertheless a significant risk for company Electronic Arts, which has according to sources spent huge sums of money making it.

Building On Previous Mistakes

This title follows the heels of the futuristic the last installment, launched four years ago to a poor feedback it found it hard to bounce back from.

"We probably would find it impossible to make and develop the latest entry absent the insights we gained in the previous title," Rebecka shares with the press.

Among those insights was to get the community engaged from the start, and the studio initiated exclusive player trials earlier this year.

The "feedback was extremely encouraging," says the manager.

Another omitted element from the last game was a single-player campaign, which has been brought back in this version.

The UK studio project head Fas Salim is the person tasked with "making sure those stages are as entertaining and interesting as can be for the audience."

Despite claims that the scale of the game had put a strain on the various teams working together globally to create the project, he is optimistic about the process.

"Working with different perspectives, different experiences, it's a truly fascinating atmosphere to be engaged with on a regular basis," he shares.

"This whole strategy has been a fresh take but additionally really exciting because we are collaborating with people from internationally."

As for the expectation on the team, the director states: "We experience stress but also it's motivating.

"It's a big venture. It's arguably the biggest that most of us have previously participated in."

Young Artist Adds New Insight

This is certainly correct of no less than one staff, lighting artist Vlad.

The recent hire makes the atmospheric effects that define the mood, tone, and direction of the solo experience.

The artist undertook an training period at Criterion prior to getting a position there, and presently operates part-time while completing his visual effects qualification at his school.
