'Enduring a Horrific Ordeal': Loved Ones of Missing Young People Desperately Seek Information After Ski Resort Inferno
The families of teenagers missing after a deadly blaze at a bar in a Switzerland's ski resort are facing an excruciating period of uncertainty for answers and appealing for information about their children publicly.
The fire devastated the Le Constellation bar in the alpine resort, located in the mountains of south-west Switzerland, in the middle of the night of January 1st. Circulated video show the roof structure being engulfed in flames as bottles with fireworks are raised in celebration.
Authorities have stated that it could take considerable time to identify the fatalities of the tragedy, which resulted in the death of four dozen individuals and hurt another 119. A spokesperson noted on Friday that 113 of the those hurt have been accounted for, with work ongoing to locate the remaining few.
In the waiting period, loved ones have been posting on the internet to appeal for any news about their missing relatives who were at the bar that night.
Desperate Searches for the Unaccounted For
The whereabouts of Swiss national Arthur Brodard, a teenager, are not yet determined, according to an appeal from his mother.
